There is a time and place for greed, but by the year 2345, that time had long since passed. The corporations had bought out parliament. A new constitution permitted citizens to be enslaved by a designated list of corporations, as they deem fit.

The governments disbanded the notion of a legal business entity. A citizen is a Human. Paperwork became meaningless.

Digital and fiat currency was replaced by the gold standard — once a laughable concept. Corporations retreated into five cities. Fractal City sealed its border with miles of suspended dust. Humanity gave the skies back to the birds.
